Ambassador of the Year named at CSIU
Jeannie Carroll, of Selinsgrove, was recently named the recipient of the CSIU 2010 Ambassador of the Year Award. This award is presented annually to a staff member who most exemplifies the CSIU’s ideals of “ambassadorship.” (read more)
New website for LPN Center
The Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center in Lewisburg recently launched a new website.

Math and science grant awarded to CSIU
The CSIU has been awarded a three-year Title IIB Math and Science Partnership grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, one of ten awards made throughout the state. The grant provides a two-week summer internship for 32 science teachers taught by faculty at Susquehanna University. Teachers also will have a master science teacher work with them in their home district for three days to model, team teach and coach. The focus of the professional development is scientific inquiry with strands that address areas of need indicated by the PSSA data from CSIU-region schools.

BrainSTEPS Team ready to help
Each year approximately 4,000 of Pennsylvania's
children survive severe traumatic brain injuries significant enough to
require hospitalization. Many are left with life-altering difficulties
in physical, cognitive, or behavioral functioning. The CSIU has recently assembled and trained a
cross-disciplinary team in a child and adolescent brain injury school
re-entry program called BrainSTEPS (Strategies Teaching Educators, Parents and Students). (read more)
