Regional Computer Fairs

It is never too early for students in grades 6-12 to begin planning their projects for the upcoming Regional Computer Fairs.

The competition is an annual event that draws interest from students across the CSIU's five-county area. Whether they are competing individually or as part of a group, they showcase their computer knowledge creatively and dynamically in six different categories (Animation, Computer Fair Logo, Digital Movie, Graphic Design, Programming and Web Page Design).

Participation is open to any student enrolled:

  • in grades 6-12;
  • in a public or private high school or in a state-approved home-school program; and
  • within Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder or Union counties.

There are two different competitions: one for middle schoolers and another for high school students. First-place winners in each category at the regional fairs advance to the state competition, where their projects will be judged against entries from other regions.

The middle school fair will be held at the CSIU on March 2, 2015, which will be followed by the high school fair on March 23, 2015.

Rules, requirements, judging criteria, registration and other information is posted at:

This will mark the 17th year the CSIU has sponsored the regional competition. CSIU staff will communicate all of the information and details with the students' faculty advisers/sponsors. (The advisers/sponsors are identified during the online registration process.)
