Why apprenticeship?

On-the-job training has long been an integral part of the experience of medical personnel who work in patient care as they complete their education. Placements in real world settings allow students to apply the theory they have learned in the classroom to actual medical situations.

In cooperation with the Pennsylvania Apprenticeship and Training Council, the WATCH Project and the Northcentral Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center  (AHEC) have developed a registered CNA apprenticeship program that will help supply the health care industry with qualified nurse aides who are skilled and dedicated. This apprenticeship will allow students to train for an Advanced CNA and Geriatric Specialization that helps meet local health care industry needs.
