At the June 19 board meeting, the CSIU presented a check in the amount of $6,000 to David Campbell, Superintendent at Line Mountain School District, in honor of Lawrence Neidig. Mr. Neidig was a CSIU Board member for nine years and resigned in March 2019. The Larry Neidig Scholarship Fund was created to recognize Mr. Neidig for his contributions to the CSIU Board, Line Mountain School Board and as business manager at Shikellamy School District.
These funds were provided by the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO). Chief Fiscal Officer Chuck Peterson served as the president of the board at ASBO in 2018. After Mr. Neidig announced his resignation from the CSIU Board, Mr. Peterson suggested the funds be used to create a scholarship in recognition of Mr. Neidig's service to the community.
