• CSIU students receive life-changing equipment from charity

Variety - The Children's Charity presented students with equipment that will foster independence.

Some very special children from the CSIU Special Education and Early Intervention programs received adapted bikes, a stroller and a communication device from Variety - The Children's Charity. These gifts are going to help with independence, communication and safe transportation.

"Receiving your first bike can be very exciting for all. However, for some of these students this is more than just a bike. It means independence and a chance to be involved with siblings and friends. It can be life changing!" said Jennifer Williams, CSIU Director of Special Education and Early Childhood Services

Variety - Children's Charity is a national charity that delivers vital life-changing equipment and services for mobility, communication, independence and social inclusion to individual children and children’s organizations. The charity presented the students with the various equipment at Schuylkill Intermediate Unit (IU 29) on Monday, January 20. The students who received these special gifts were from classes in the IU29 region as well as some from CSIU special educaton classes.
