Direct Care Worker (DCW) Heroes

DCW Heroes is a Pennsylvania Depart.of Labor & Industry direct care worker training grant that offers career services to new and currently employed DCW professionals. Meet Tamika as she shares her experiences.

Innovative Impact

Jeff Kay, special projects technology manager, was awarded an impact award for his innovative work in facilitating the creation of 35,000 personal protective devices and parts using a network of school district and IU 3D printers in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

CSEL Rocket League Tournament

The Central Susquehanna Esports League hosted their second annual in-house tournament featuring several districts from the IU16 region including Danville, Berwick, Shamokin, Warrior Run, Selinsgrove, and Shikellamy.

Early Head Start / Head Start

Early Head Start and Head Start are comprehensive child development programs designed to support the healthy development of infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, as well as promote family well-being, particularly within low-income communities.

Guest Teacher

The CSIU Guest Teacher Program provides substitute teacher training to individuals who have a bachelor’s degree, but do not have, or have never held a Pennsylvania teaching certificate. All 17 of the districts in the 5-county, CSIU region participate in the program.

Migrant Education Program

The CSIU MEP supports seasonal and temporary migrant workers in 27 counties in PA. Services to students ages 3 to 21 include student advocacy, supplemental instruction, summer programs, home visits, and afterschool programs.

Pre-K Counts

Pre-K Counts is a high-quality preschool program that provides a solid foundation for children to learn. Children enrolled in the program are excited about school. Watch a day in the life of one of our students through this video.
