  • We are excited to announce the December CSIU: Together We Rise Nominees!

    As announced at 2021 Professional Leadership Day (PLD), the CSIU has implemented a new award program, "CSIU: Together We Rise!" The program recognizes colleagues for their commitment to: 

    • Rising through innovative work: A person who has demonstrated innovation in the workplace.
    • Rising through service to others and self-care: A person who modeled service or self-care or who helped a person or team with service or self-care.
    • Rising through equity: A person who embraced equity in the form of learning (self-growth), teaching (providing or organizing professional learning experiences for others), or practicing (ensuring equity for served populations).

    December brought in four nominations for the awards! Please take a few moments out of your day to read about these valued members of the CSIU family and to congratulate them for making a difference by RISING through innovative work, service to others and self-care, and/or equity!

    Why Tanya was nominated: 

    Tanya is the Schoology expert at the IU! She has shared her knowledge and skills with others; teaching us how to navigate the Schoology platform and assisting us in developing, uploading and administering courses. She knows the shortcuts and tricks and is always willing to accommodate and help us troubleshoot to make the pieces work.

    Why Melinda was nominated: 

    Over the last year, Mindy has endured some big challenges, especially on a personal level. She always maintained a positive attitude with a smile and continued to support her families in the Early Head Start program.

    Why Erin was nominated: 

    Despite having staff shortages for most of December, Erin developed creative ways to make sure her students received excellent instruction. She is appreciated not only by her students, but by staff throughout the building and by the families she serves.

    Ellen Wilhour

    Rising through Service to Others and Self-Care Award, Nominated by Karen Nogle


    Why Ellen was nominated: 

    Ellen Wilhour continues to rise above in her service to others by her caring nature and continued support. She has been extremely kind in attending to requests and seemingly endless questions. She was exceptionally helpful in the transition to work-from-home.

    Ellen uses appropriate responsiveness and professionalism when dealing with staff experiencing difficulties. Her demeanor is calming and her knowledge of the many programs of the CSIU is especially valuable in explaining complex answers.
