Joan Hauck
Work Foundations +
Living Our Values: Passion for Excellence, Nominated by Tracy Smith
Why Joan was nominated:
Mrs. Hauck's dedication is outstanding in so many ways. She is always the first to provide support within a classroom and assist in mentoring staff. She encourages strategizing on behalf of the students within the classroom to help them reach their maximum potential. Her commitment to student development is exemplary.
Erin Hepworth
CSIU Special Education
Living Our Values: Equity in Action
Why Erin was nominated:Erin Hepworth leads Five Star in a manner that leans into supporting students, even in their most challenging moments. Understanding students and families, recognizing and overcoming barriers to educational access and success, and supporting building-wide development are priorities she conveys on a daily basis. Mrs. Hepworth models calm and consideration, even in stressful moments, which is a huge support to her team, both as a whole and as individuals. "Equity in action" is a core principle by which she operates, and in conversations with her, student equity is a constant theme. Her compassion and humor round out her leadership style, which is so appreciated by her staff.
Jennifer Hodish
Five Star Program
Living Our Values: Equity in Action
Why Jennifer was nominated:Mrs. Hodish is new to Five Star, but she enters and leaves the building with a positive attitude every day. It doesn't matter which student comes into her class, they are all welcomed, and she works to find approaches and tools that highlight that student's strengths. Mrs. Hodish has a calming effect on students who are frustrated. Some of our most unpredictable and school-aversive students have said they enjoy her class. She works to make her class content accessible to all of the students at Five Star.
"Thank you, Mrs. Hodish, for your commitment to our kids!"
