Welcome to the CSIU's PLD 2024

We are back and in-person for 2024 PLD! PLD is being held at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA.
2024 Professional Leadership Day (PLD) is designed to provide an opportunity for reflection, celebration, and personal and professional enrichment for all of the staff members of the CSIU at the Central Office, Annex, Center for Schools and Communities, and our many field sites and in-district programs.
The 2024 PLD theme is Mission Possible Advancing Innovations. Advancing innovations in education, technology, and business settings, the CSIU continuously lives its value of Innovation for Growth.
This page will contain information to help guide you through the logistics, agenda, and resources available for our in-person PLD on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The best way to stay connected and informed about PLD is to check your IU email regularly.

Parking Information: Upon arrival, to park closer to Weber Chapel use 151 Weber Way, Selinsgrove, PA 17870 as the address to enter the Susquehanna University campus. To park closer to the Garret Sports Complex use 520 University Avenue, Selinsgrove, PA 17870 as the address. Signage will also direct you to the parking areas once you arrive on campus. A shuttle service to and from the parking lots will be offered by CSIU facilities staff.
Registration and Refreshments: Registration begins at 8 a.m. in the Weber Chapel lobby. A continental breakfast will be available: yogurt parfait with granola, fresh fruit (individual servings), assorted pastries (muffins, scones, danish, and croissants) served with butter and jam, oatmeal station with brown sugar, raisins, milk and banana slices. Regular and decaf coffee, tea bags w/hot water, orange juice and water.
Note: All food and drinks are to remain outside the auditorium.
Wifi Access:
Susquehanna University provides wireless access to on-campus guests. Anyone with a wireless-enabled laptop or mobile device can access the "SU Guest WIFI.”
Note: You must first open a browser and accept Susquehanna University’s conditions for using the network before you can check email, connect to the Internet, etc.Program: The PLD program will begin promptly at 8:45 a.m. The morning session will include the presentation of the Ambassador of the Year, Passion for Excellence, Kudos and Kevin P. Singer Innovation awards, a Years of Service celebration and remarks by CSIU Executive Director Dr. John Kurelja.
Breakout sessions: Participants have the option to choose between two distinct learning pathways.
The Mission Pathway, held in Weber Chapel, begins with a session on using artificial intelligence in educational settings led by Greg Kulowiec and continues with a session by Ben Hartranft who will share his ability to overcome challenges as a person with Autism.
The Possibilities Pathway, taking place in Stretansky Concert Hall located in the Cunningham Center for Music and Art, starts with a session by Laura Cabrera on systems thinking, modeling, and innovation, and concludes with a session led by Greg Kulowiec on using artificial intelligence for productivity and innovation.
