CSIU Certification Programs provide high-quality professional learning through strategic collaborations to drive school improvement. Participants who successfully complete the program and state testing achieve PDE Certification, qualifying them to teach in public schools.
Program Description
CSIU's post-baccalaureate programs in PK-4 Elementary and PK-12 Special Education, in partnership with BloomBoard, foster educator growth and school improvement, ensuring high-quality, inclusive learning experiences for all students. These programs are designed for adults working in schools in Pennsylvania.
PK-4 Elementary Education
CSIU’s PK-4 program features a curriculum aligned with PA standards, combining innovative coursework with practical experience. It prepares educators to create inclusive, effective learning environments that meet the developmental needs of all young children.
PK-12 Special Education
The PK-12 Special Education program prepares educators to provide inclusive, tailored education through specialized training and adaptive strategies. It emphasizes professional growth, advocacy for students with special needs, and continuous school improvement.
Evidence-Based Certification (EBC, formerly Intern Certification)
Evidence-Based Certification (EBC) pathways are available for emergency permitted teachers OR a full-time long-term substitute teacher in a school district in PA who have passed the required state-mandated exams. These programs require 18 credits for PK-4 certification or 21 credits for PK-12 Special Education.
Additional information on testing requirements can be found on the PDE website.
