CSIU Early Intervention Preschool Program
All children grow and learn at different rates. Children developing at a slower rate often need some extra help. The CSIU provides services through its Early Intervention Preschool program, which is designed to promote collaboration among parents, service providers and others who are involved in a child’s life.
To be eligible, children must live in Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder or Union Counties. Children also must be between three years of age and school-age eligible (age of beginner).
The CSIU Early Intervention Preschool program offers services based on the child’s educational needs, as well as the IEP team's recommendation. These services may be provided in a variety of settings. Most commonly, we provide services at one of our center locations, a community location, childcare facilities, and preschool classrooms.
A child must also exhibit a 25% delay in at least one or more of the following developmental domains:
- Motor
- Cognition
- Communication
- Adaptive
- Social Emotional
Related services are offered to help children benefit from, or gain access to educational programs.
- Speech Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Hearing
- Vision
- Orientation and Mobility
