Central Susquehanna Esports League (CSEL)

CSEL Rules and Guidelines

The following are the official rules of the 2025 Central Susquehanna eSports League.  Any issues that arise which are not covered within the current rules will be settled at the discretion of the CSEL League Manager. Rules may be added or modified if deemed necessary.

Basics:

1. To participate in this league, players must have the following equipment:
   1. Xbox One^TM, PlayStation 4^TM, Nintendo Switch^TM or PC connected to the internet with an online subscription.
   2. Gamer ID (Gamertag/PSN Online ID)
   3. Rocket League^TM Username
   4. Rocket League^TM game
   5. Access to communicate on the application, Discord^TM
       
2. All participating club teams must share their clubs' gamer usernames with the rest of the clubs in the league (in the form of a club roster). Club rosters will be provided to the League Manager before the season starts and before each series starting rosters will be provided to the opposing team head advisor.  Refer to the CSeL website for the series schedule and league updates.
    
3. The league rules and schedule will be emailed to the club head advisors (coaches) and posted on the league website.
    
4. Communication for the league will be held on the Discord^TM app. See rules 16-19 for details on game communication.  Each club team will be responsible for managing their own Discord server.
    
5. A team roster will consist of 4 players with a team captain.  Only 3 of the 4 players will participate once the series starts (4th player is for a last minute substitution). Each club may have up to 2 teams.
    
6. Upon completion of league scheduled games, each team captain must take a picture of the final score of each game and provide it to their head advisor. These pictures will be sent to the CSeL League Manager.
    
7. All clubs must abide by the CSeL code of conduct.  The CSeL code of conduct will be sent to all clubs and will be posted on the league website.

Gameplay:

1. Any setting not listed below should not be changed from its default state.
    
2. The HOME Team will be responsible for setting up the match. It is best for the player with the best and most reliable connection to host the game.  Include your team name within the Team Settings.
    
3. To set up your game, load Rocket LeagueTM on your device and follow these steps:
4. Select “Play” 
5. Select “Private Match”
6. Select “Create Private Match”
7. Game Mode: SOCCAR
8. Arena: DFH Stadium 
9. Team Size: 3V3
10. Bot Difficulty: No Bots
11. Team Settings: Home Team = Orange, Away Team = Blue
12. Mutator Settings: Series Length: 5 games and the rest are default settings.
13. Region: US-EAST
14. Joinable By: Name/Password
15. Name: As provided on the schedule
16. Password: As provided on the schedule
     
17. Games will be five minutes in length, whichever team has the most goals at the end of the game is the winner. If tied after five minutes, the games will be immediately determined by sudden death overtime
     
18. Each series will be a best 3 of 5 games (Make sure this is set in the Mutator Settings). The best of 5 series must be played consecutively.
     
19. Players are strongly discouraged from quitting out of matches during play. If a participant intentionally disconnects from the game and is not able to reconnect to the game, then a loss will be given to the team. This loss will be recorded as a forfeit.
     
20. If a “player” unintentionally disconnects from the game, the game shall continue as played. The disconnected player will attempt to rejoin the game as soon as possible. If the player cannot rejoin, the game will continue as is.
     
21. If a “team” unintentionally disconnects from the game and is not able to reconnect, the following will happen:
     
22. Disconnected with 30 seconds or less left of game clock: If the losing team disconnects, the game will be considered complete.  If the winning team unintentionally disconnects or if the game is tied, follow option “b”.
     
23. Disconnected with more than 30 seconds left on game clock: A new game shall be played. During this new game, both teams will work together to adjust the score and game time to match what it was at the point of the disconnect.  Teams will allow “free goals” until the game score is back to where it should be. Once the score is correct, do not resume play until the game clock is correct as well.  This means each car should remain in their starting position with the ball at the middle of the field. Once the game clock is correct, play can resume.

Communication:

1. The CSEL League Manager will send an email prior to the start of the season with all of the season details and will maintain communication with email and any other methods deemed necessary. Game communication will be conducted through the Discord^TM app and will be managed by the clubs themselves.

2. Before the beginning of each game, the club head advisor will invite players to join the Discord^TM group chat.

3. Players must communicate with each other on their club Discord^TM server for the scheduled game time with the club head advisor in the group.

4. It is strongly discouraged for players to “party up” with other people during the game to prevent players talking to each other before, during and after the game.
